The brief was to design wall graphics for Tirupati International airport which represents the culture, identity and traditions of the people of the city. One of the holiest Hindu Pilgrim spots in India, it is considered the “Spiritual Captial of Andhra Pradesh”. It is known for the Tirumala Venkateswara temple, famous pilgrimage spot that attracts thousands of people from the country. The people are simple and devout and the rituals and customs permeate their everyday lives.

Since Tirupati Airport holds international status, it was crucial to embody Tirupati's cultural essence through these illustrations. The three illustrations draw inspiration from the renowned Tirumala Venkatswara temple, the cultural story of Lord Srinivasa associated with it and the traditional dance form - Kuchipudi.  As such the first illustration depicts Lord Srinivasa along with Goddess Laxmi and Parvati, the second depicts Mahadwaram of the temple and the third depicts three mudras - Sadamsa, Pataka and Tamrachuda of the dance form of Kuchipudi.

Supporting elements in the illustration depict aspects of ‘puja’ - the incense smoke and the flowers offered to the deities. A vibrant palette of golds, reds and blue is inspired by the traditional depictions of the gods. Along with a modern illustrative style, the artworks capture the spirit of Tirupati.
